Week 1
September 1-8th, 2024
Week one in New Zealand was great! We moved into our Airbnb, which we will live in for the next 3 months. It’s pretty cozy here but it’s for sure not my favourite place we have stayed at. We had our first week of school, it is better than a real school, but school will always be boring… We start school at 9:00 AM, do work with my parents, and then in the afternoon we have to do silent work til 3:00 pm. We do a hike on Thursdays and Fridays are our days off but we get to pick something fun to do that day.
This week we did school and toured around. Our school was pretty easy because it was our first week. On Thursday we went for a hike. The hike was pretty nice but was very muddy which made our shoes dirty and made it very slippery. On Friday we went to a trampoline park, as I won the “coin-flip” for the week. It was pretty fun, as we had it to ourselves because it was a school day. On Saturday we went to this famous street “Cuba St”. It was pretty cool and we went into a few shops. Saturday was very windy. On Sunday we went to see the seals. The walk was pretty long and took us about 2 hours but it was a very nice walk as it was along the ocean. The seals were very cute and for sure worth the walk, even though my legs were killing me after.
