On the first day in Waitomo was a blast. We had a 5 hr car ride which felt longer than it should have but it was still really fun. All I did was watch YouTube videos and play subway surfers (my record was 31,000). We had 3 leg breaks and one of them we played football. And I caught one of them one handed which was cool because my legs were really tried. When we got to the cottage we were greeted by these nice people. And they were holding these nice two dogs. When we got up to the cabin we saw a fire place, a loft, and a king bed. After we chilled there for a while we went out side and saw a lot of sheep outside which was really funny. That night I slept so good that you could say “I slept like a baby.” On day two we went on a hike that was 1 hour and 15 minutes. I thought the hike was so cool because during Covid-19 they made this path. The path they made led through the sheep and then back to the forest. When we got home after the hike we were all drained. Since there was no wifi all we did was play offline games that were like Subway surfers. And sometimes during those times I would stickhandle on the deck. The day after that we went to go on the hike that there is a waterfall there ,and I thought the waterfall would be a tiny speck but when we got there it was massive. I thought the size of that was as big as Niagara Falls but my dad told me Niagara Falls was “way bigger than this fella.” After that hike we went to another hike but this one we were walking to a cave. The cave was really cool but not as cool as the waterfall. We counted how many steps there was and it was 176 steps. After that we did another hike it was a cave too. I would say it was as cool as the cave but nothing will beat the waterfall. After that we all rested for tonight, which we were going to the Glow Worms Caves. When we got there we had to wait because we were a little early. But when we got in the cave the tour guide told us to not touch the rock because it will ruin the rock. The glow worms were so cool when it was dark but when the tour guide turned on the light the glow worms looked like boogers 🤮. The day after that we went to the Kiwi House. When we first got in the room we admittedly saw a Kiwi bird. I thought it would be bigger but it was actually smaller than I thought. We went farther through the bird sanctuary and it was not as cool as I expected. The day after that we had to leave at 7:30 in the morning because we were going to the Auckland airport to go see a A380 landing 🛬. We had to pack that night because we had no time in the morning too. The day after we said goodbye to Waitomo and we headed off. Bye 👋
