Since I used up the max. character count in my Insta post, I thought I’d share my L5 here.
Liked: I love war history, so walking through this infamous city is intriguing and eerie.
Loathed: The German stare. They look at you blankly with no expression and hold that gaze. You don’t know if they like you, or hate you but they are definitely judging you in one way or another…Germans.
Laughed: Kinnon and I are playing catch in the water when I pause now and then. Kinnon is very serious when we play catch and asks, why are you distracted? I said, “I am looking at the German boats, taking it all in.” He walks over, “Yes, the German boats…” and proceeds to wink (little bugger). A few days later, we are at another beach and I tell Kinnon, “Prepare yourself, these German boats have they’re sails down,” which he turns bright red and giggles away. (Image: I think Kinnon should be drinking my beer, as he grew up a lot in these 5-nights in Germany).
Learned: Berlin is a fascinating city but for all the wrong reasons. A grey cloud seems to follow you around through their dark history. That being said, it is noble how the Germans address their past atrocities with humility, respect and reflection. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
List: 1) Copenhagen 2) Edinburgh

February 10, 2026The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
